Working Great!
You're welcome!
![]() I've been running this for about 10 days and no issues so far. Short wu's for the HMMPFam type -- est by BOINC at 26 min. Haven't seen the GARLI type yet. The HMMPFam wu's are running without a checkpoint and show no "progress" as this is a legacy science app adapted to BOINC. Very short deadlines though (72 hours?), so it may take a day or two for BOINC to adjust as you work this project into your queue. Apps for WIN, LINUX and MAC. Pretty good communication from project manager via message boards. |

The GARLI wu's are longer - ranging from 4-6 hours up to 9-10. The project extended the deadlines on these to 5 days, but they also run without checkpointing. I haven't seen any problems with that as I have BOINC set to retain all wu's in memory. Some team members using BOINC 5.10.13 have noticed that when they get one of the GARLI wu's it runs to completion rather than the usual 1-2 hour "rotation" stretch. I am still running BOINC 5.8.16 and these wu's behave normally for me, i.e. pause after an hour or two to let another project run.
The project has had occasional stretches of a a day or so without work, but in addition to the messages in the BOINC manager, the website keeps good track of this. Some of the lack of work is platform specific (Intel/Windows) as the project wants to ensure cross-platform validation. Work should increase as more types of the computations run under Lattice are ported to BOINC. Continued strong interaction with the project on the forums. All in all, a good solid project -- recommend for the Vault. |

We have the offical nod from the site admin to add the project to the Vault.
Post away people's, let us know how it runs etc |

I really would like to get this project added...
Work is in batches, so there may be a bit of downtime from time-to-time |

Just wanted to add an update. Both of the primary wu's for this project (HMMPfam and GARLI) now support checkpointing and show percent completed. Other wu types expected to be added to the mix this fall.
Anyone else out there in "Vault-land" tried this project? Seems like a very one-sided conversation here...

Team Haiku ran a few WUs a while back - it seemed pretty solid when I ran it.
I'll try to throw another machine or two at it this week. |

Solid project so far - the new GARLI application is a bit memory hungry, however - requires 300-400mb per unit.
I've noticed on my 1gb P4HT machine it will only do one at a time most often because there isn't enough memory for two simultaneously (get "Waiting for memory" status) |

Only done a handful of units but seems perfectly stable and work availability/stats updating seems fine.

What project cat' would this fall into

It runs various applications, but it appears they all revolve around DNA and protein research - so I would guess it's mostly Biological.

Have run several WUs on this project... would like to see more WUs though... So far, it seems to be very stable. Might be a good addition to The Vault...

I have run a half dozen wu's through this project and it seems stable enough. I do have two concerns.
First is (from their project page) Quote:

All in all, it looks a good project though it would be better if it had regular work. |
