Looking for old AMD mobo info...

Have the serial #/code off the mobo. Was just looking to find out if I could stick a bigger cpu in it for a friend. Is there a web site or something, or should I try the manufacterer's site? I think it is a "uwave" brand or something; it's inside a compaq.

Hi Spec,

Most all of the manufacturer's sites have a section for archieved mobos.
I think that is the best option for the older boards.

You can also do a Google search on model, that usually will produce results.

there is actually a lot of info on that buried deep in Compaq's site (Hp's) where the partnumber tells alot about the Mobo... Search for it...

Only have what I wrote down on a post-it note at work, so I"ll post that if I can find it on Monday. Had no luck searching the 'net, as I'm not sure I wrote down the right number. The board was pretty ghetto.

Looks like it's a Compaq Presario 5000, I think it has a Duron 800 Mhz in it, and one # I pulled off the mobo said, "KUA1208976 - UWAVE"
