Talking New Rig !!
Just ordered a new rig for the wife for video\photo editing - and a little DC :-

Shuttle SB75G2 Small Form Factor Case
P4-2.8C (800) CPU
512MB Corsair Low Latency Ram (2x256MB for Dual DDR mode)
160GB Samsung Spinpoint 8MB Cache Hard Disk
NEC 2500A 8x DVR+-RW Writer (black)
3.5" Floppy Drive (black)
17" Hitachi CML175SXWB TFT Monitor (carbon)
Asus 9600SE 128MB DVI Video Card
Logitech Cordless Keyboard and Mouse

When it all arrives I'll document the build and then write a review

I know it's Intel Chops but intel kit is still far better for video/photo work than AMD, although you pay for it

I'm sure a suitable project will be found for it although I wished I'd known sooner how quick the latest DF protein is I would have thrown a few more resources behind it

Hey, PD isn't it about time to dump your DPAD load

Hmm,
I would have thought the Intel processor could be better employed doing something that takes advantage of HyperThreading, SETI or DPAD for example.....

Farley, Meady - there are other plans afoot and so a little sweetner won't hurt in the long run

Fallguy - DPAD does seem to like the old Hyperthreading stuff

not that memanno, its just that my first intel build has gone all to hell and in process of RMA's and refunds See here and here
