>News< Commentary for Saturday, December 27th

Hello, and welcome to Team Ninja's daily blat, your home for news that counts!

Team Ninja had a big Saturday boost from the favourable ionic winds mentioned in Friday's Rumor Central! Although stealth mode operations continue in the covert "shock and awe" department, the overt Team was rejoined by Doc, who returned from walk-about just in time to prevent his dump tanks from exploding! The w00t release was accompanied by a strange sound: "AAAHHHHHHHHHH....." that some might identify with!

Stealth mode operations continue within the SOCOM group in Team Ninja, and despite the small OPS Team size, New Year's Day should be an ominous one for RUSSIA!

At days end Saturday, long range sensor scans showed Team RUSSIA as being 10,041 w00ts distant. Their average velocity is slightly higher than ours, but with the coming surprise, it won't matter greatly!

The Navigator's evening report for Saturday showed us in 86th place with a final mark of 791,744 and 2776 returned for the day. Ever onwards and upwards, Ninjas!

Milestones: no milestones achieved on this day

Promotions: no promotions made on this day

STOMP report: t_willi27 ed Shalidar to take 31st place in RedGiant league! Way to go, t_willi27! Keep up the fine f00t (and w00t) work!

Rumor Central: Always remember that the Russian mindset is one of a chessplayer, willing to sacrifice a pawn or two in order to capture a noble piece! All things being fair in love and war, however, our Team has potential to them with continued psychological warfare as well as dedicated crunching. Let's see what kind of surprises the New Year brings...

AWARDS:

>DoD< goes to DOCTOR WHO for a resonant 1842 w00t in the Team Ninja Intergalactic bank! This event reminds one of Ada Augusta King, Countess of Lovelace, who translated Menabrea's pamphlet on the Analytical Engine, adding her own notes to become the world's first programmer!

>POD (Continuum Class)< goes to our PODMaster Robert Basil for a 257 w00t day with honorable mention to Bob Young @ work for 205!

>POD (Galaxy Class)< goes to Codfish_II for a 62 w00t day of epic proportions!

Legend - What do all these awards stand for??

DoD - Dump of Day - awarded for a remarkable dump of w00ts
POD - Producer Of the Day - highly subjective and at the whim of the commentator (two classes: Continuum Class, for those in that league, and Galaxy Class for all other leagues)
MAM - Most Active Member - most units produced in the league that day
Phoenix - Awarded to a team member who has been long inactive and has returned to active duty
StompMaster - Awarded to the member who stomps the most people on a single day

Cool ANOTHER FINE READ, THAT, HW: GO TEAM

Since my situation is somewhat, ahem, tenuous: day-by-day...

I' had no choice but to change tactics...

hence a steady stream shall be the fog for others' maneuvering....

Hi Meady ... thanks for the >DoD< and my best to the rest -doc

PS: r9brian, you've got a couple emails from me on your dhcc

An excellent report, Hog - thanks for that.

Congratulations to all the award winners, and a big back to the Doc - glad to see you posting again, my friend.

Onwards and stealthily upwards, Ninjas - the day of reckoning approaches ever closer.

Is that with or without counting the cachers? 10K not horribly away and if we're matching them now, we have alot of w00t/day not in the mix.

Congrats to the awardees and a special mention to Doc who rejoins the battle.

Sir Farley, that's without the cachers, of course. The surprise will be sweet, and worth awaiting!

I know my storage tanks are tremmbling. I've never cached this many w00ts before.. I'll keep the real number a secret, but lets just say I broke 4 digits yesturday.

This is gonna be fun.

Did we ever decide on a time, or just during NYD when ever?

Wink

We certainly don't want ye burstin' at the seams b4 the 'Big Day' Farley

It might be an idea for one or two of our bigger hitters to hold back some of their cache... to lead the Russians further into a false sense of security! Just when they think the deluge is finally over, you hit em for six again

Anyways... I'm sooooooo looking forward to seeing the final figures on NYD... however the cards are played

Good luck gang
