Client reinstall - keeping your node
I had to reinstall windows on several machines yesterday and was not overjoyed at the prospect of starting up new nodes and leaving the old ones to sit there inactive, looks too messy
![]() It seems that the node data is not stored in the registry so what I did was this: 1. Took a backup of the whole TSC folder. 2. Installed the client as normal but made sure the machine was not connected to the net at the time. 3. Exited the install when it got to the "enter your e-mail address" stage. 4. (a) If you wish to carry on using the same data, just copy the whole folder back to where you got it, overwriting the new data. 4. (b) If you have a troublesome client, merely copy the "node.prp" file from the TSC/res/ folder. 5. Reconnect to the net and start her up ![]() This should see you back up and crunching with your original node and the TSC servers will be none the wiser |
