Doesn't seem like this project should be in the Vault since it doesn't accept new members?

Yes. Now it is but for months it wasn't which is a real disadvantage for those who didn't have code.

Well, to be quite frank... all you had to do was ask the admin for it. That is how I got it. He just didn't have it publicly listed as he wasn't ready for full challenge worthy attention. And the project is still a very small project, so there isn't a lot of unfair behavior to argue. Any New team that hasn't been around would say having SETI in the list is unfair because they weren't crunching it since the 90's when many other teams were. It just means recently you have had the opportunity to work on other projects that those teams weren't working on due to working on this project. Either way, the option was there if a user looked for it. And everyone that was crunching it before it was public did so before there were optimized apps. I could have done about 2 times the work I did with the same resources. And we added the project as soon as it met requirements. And to be even more fair, we didn't add the project here until registration was made public. So, I don't know what more you could want at this point.

I agree. Hopefully soon I will find some time in my extremely busy schedule to set up a stress test challenge for SRBase.

Not unless it is currently violating Vault rules, become a dead project, or not able to deliver an adequate amount of work for long periods of time. (The last part is more for being "challenge worthy") So, unless there are more issues presented the answer is more than likely a No at this time.

According to the admin, they will probably test the new app with linux-only this weekend, and if all goes well, all platforms will have work again shortly after that.

We have the new application, with the following features:
- very small output file, in the last Vv experiments it was ~5.7M, now ~67K.
- bzip2 compressed input file (uncompressed by the client), smaller than before
- some bugs fixed (related with the validation process)
We tested it 'standalone' and it works well.

Now we are focusing on the work generator.
The next Friday we will meet and try to finalize everything. The idea is to generate some work for the new app (only for the Linux x64 sse2 version) and see on Monday if everything is okay.

There will be (optimized) applications for all the platforms (as before, x32/x62 Linux, Windows, ARM, Mac OS). We will start deploying them after this weekend (if everything goes well). We'll keep you updated.
