So am I the only one who doesn't like the idea of running a project when they won't even tell you what they're using your computer for?

From the "science" part of their forums:

At present project does not have science goal.
Also, the given project has no neither financial, nor scientific support.
There are negotiations and search of interested persons.
And later:
Currently app "gsm_1.10_windows_intelx86.exe" are doing prime searching.
Unless the admin can specify exactly what the project is doing, I would say it's pointless to include it. All I see is a lot of "ads" for the russian boinc team. It could be a wrapper that does other boinc projects and claims the credit for team Russia for all we know... It probably isn't, but you know what I mean.

Well I just ran some work and decided to detach. All the WU's took zero seconds to complete and I will get no credit for them. I do not know how I would get any credit if all the WU's took zero seconds. Also there are plenty of other prime search projects out there right now.

It has been several years since we last visited this project. I will be doing some testing in January and encourage others to do the same. Please share your results, findings, and concerns with current day issues with this project.
