Google Voice in Gmail

So as of a few weeks ago, Google integrated Google Voice into Gmail Chat. I was big into GVoice already, and had been waiting for a softphone after their purchase of Gizmo about a year ago. Now, I can make and receive phone calls, Google Talk IMs, AIM contacts, emails and Google Buzz (which I don't use anyway) in one place. Plus, with gadgets, I can add Facebook IM and Twitter to the sidebar.

Has Google's additions to GVoice changed how you view VoIP? Have you had a chance to try it out yet?

I like the idea of VoIP but I have to say I have yet to see any compelling reason to use it. If i made international calls to a computer literate person that might change, but at the moment no.

Did try VoIP on my landline a few years back as part of a call package - quality was rubbish and the calls regularly cut out...
Tuttle did it!
