The goal of DNA@Home is to discover what regulates the genes in DNA. Ever notice that skin cells are different from a muscle cells, which are different from a bone cells, even though every cell in your body has every gene in your genome? That's because not all genes are "on" all the time. Depending on the cell type and what the cell is trying to do at any given moment, only a subset of the genes are used, and the remainder are shut off. DNA@home uses statistical algorithms to unlock the key to this differential regulation, using your volunteered computers.

Hmmm ... just took a look at this project. Looks as though it has been a long, slow summer for it ... as in no work.

Now mind you, the chief volunteer/admin has just finished moving (to a new place/job at the University of North Dakota). That can be a hectic time.

Have to come back and look at this in a few weeks (or as soon as I get a workunit). The science of it looks intriguing.

Got some workunits! Not a lot, but some.

They have some work units at the moment, crunching some.
Runtime is like 14-15 minutes on an i7 2600k @ 4.2 GHz Win7 x64. The batch won't last long.
Mem usage Gibbs_0.18_windows_x86_64: 60.060 kB
Application seems stable, suspend/resume works (doesn't produce errors like the latest Lattice units).
