Friendly Challenge
C'mon, Team. Gear up and
 the old Hog in SETISpace! It's hard not to notice that The Continuum and Black Hole together are not producing as many cobblestones as my small but potent little fleet each day, despite the Texas heat.So here's the deal: you guys ramp up and see if the combined resources of The Continuum and Black Hole can put the f00t on me... or else I'll be forced to bray at you like a donkey!!  We go for one week of production and see who comes out on top! It's the Delta Quadrant against Black Hole and The Continuum... so ramp up and let's see who's got the beef!! Start tomorrow (Monday) and go through next Sunday. May the best fleet win!!!

lol, I have to rebuild my OpenBSD OGR-25 quad server, it needs to go to Win64 as I#m setting up a 5 server virtual box up. It will crunch seti from wednesday
it has 16GB ram woot !

I was crunching for a while, but the box ended up at work as a ESX skunkwerks box. Still doing a grand job, I wound down all my boxes as the hike in electircity killed me. I still have two crunchers, folding (ps/3) and a dual quad Opteron 2352 (random stuff really)

cost of electricity has definitely been a factor for me.. well, costs overall, but you have to cut back somewhere in the budget!
additionally, I used to run a lot of older hardware that simply no longer became economically feasible to operate, so I have let the old fleet sail off into the sunset. The last traditional pc that I have running is a P4, that basically serves as a home file server. It puts out way too much heat in the summer, but is the only furnance I have during those couple of weeks of cold weather that we get in south florida each winter !  I suspect that the P4 will get replaced soon by a nas, such as a synology disk station.. Hogward.. Hope all is well!
