I am having really weird problems with windows 2K. Screen keeps jumping all over the place. as if somebody is moving the scrollbars at the side of screen. Making it very difficult to use PC. Checked mouse that is fine (cleaned and works with no problems when no apps are open). scanned for Viruses but come up clean. Nothing else has been done to PC (no installs etc). Got a report to do in word but that does the same couldn't see the line i had typed in cos screen moved:mad:
Any suggestions??

Hi Bozo,
I really haven't a clue, at the moment, as to what is causing the problem.
What I would have suggested, you have already tried.
Do you have SP2 installed in Win2K. If not, would not hurt.
Maybe check video cable to monitor and at back of system. Loose cable could cause problem.
Maybe check video card slot for looseness. Pull and reseat the video card.
Clean the copper "prongs" on the video card with an eraser from a pencil. Just make sure you get all the rubber debris off the card also.
Any more than that I have to think on.
Take care, and let us know results.......

Just thinking may still a mouse problem. If it was a button then it wouldn't show the problems if no apps was open. Will try to fit another mouse and see if that cures it.

Check your display properties to see if your screen area is larger than your monitor can support. Basically lower you screen area to levels to see if it solves the problem...

Seems to working better now (for now at least). I changed the mouse for a new one. So it was either that or the KVM switch playing up. What i dont understand is if it was a mouse button why links buttons etc. did not activate if mouse button was detected as getting depressed.
Just to clear up a couple of points, monitor can easily handle the display, running sp2 and have tried rebooting PC etc.
If problems begin to re-occur i will yell for help again, thx for quick responses:)

I've seen weird screen behaviour with MS wheel mice. Sometimes if you use it and if the wheel gets stuck between two natural resting points, then the screen goes all jumpy.
