Hey guys, Id like to have some fun here, and I hope you will all participate. I would like to see WHO in the ninja micros forums can pull the absolute highest 3dmark 2001 score. Everyone post the highest score you can possibly obtain on your system. If you can include a screen pic as well, that would be good. SO.....let the war begin....

I think Opp is near 16000 actually, but I could be wrong lol. Well, lets just say he doesn't count.
Lets just say that I plan on being the next one to beat (http://www.foxbits.com/gallery/Cube2002?&page=4) :)

I burned my fingers on it actually, well the backs of my fingers. I removed the heatsink yesterday, and glued on the waterblocks to the GPU and ram. Let the glue set a little, and installed it in the motherboard just to see if the card still works. It did, beautifully, even with no water running through the waterblocks.
But when i touched the GPU...thing was smoking! 65-70c easily to burn me like that. I guess i know the heat is transfering to the waterblock well ;) The ram blocks didnt even get warm.
Some 5c water will show that card!

default max (except for the cheatörs) is 15452 by macci.
we're planning an attack on that one in belgium :D
mine is 12331, and going up (vidcard only arrived yesterday)
specs :
-epox 8k3a+
-samsung/twinmoss pc 2700
-xp 2000+ with pal 8045/delta : @ 1810 mhz
-leadtek ti4600w/2 60mm delta fans strapped to back @ 320/700 4 the moment but still rising (planning 4 waterblock)
-modded enermax psu
http://service.madonion.com/compare?2k1=3361311
plans : vapochill is underway//when t'bred would disappoint : move to p4 on vapo
( i have a spare system on which I surf and work, and it's great 4 that, but it clocks in @ 79 3dmarks, sadly I can't publish the score coz there's all kinds of stuff unnatural about the scores)
79 rulez!!:p

quite interesting to check out my compare url : we have exactly the same fsb/proc speed,, we just have diff. 3dcards : 3200 points of difference, notice the sheer power of the ti4600.
(i've tweaked the system a lot too)

Thats a nice score NY. With a Radeon 8500 you would kick 10000's a**. But theres more to life than benchmarking anyways. Actually I once got 8500 with that G/F 3 on my ECS K7S5A mobo with a XP1700 and a minor O/C on the CPU. Those K7S5A mobos are really fast, no joking either. For less than $100.00 Canadian and a stick of DDR its a real performer at a super price. Good luck with the benching.

I really can't wait to get my main system back up and running now :) Hope the KX7 gets here fast. Take that bad boy up to 200mhz FSB, CPU at 2ghz, and my Ti4600 at maybe 350/750 or better :) Should get somewhat close to 15000.

Those insane FSB speeds dont damage your hardware?
Player0
28th April 2002, 10:15 PM
Nope, not at all. I run 166FSB now on my KR7A-133. That makes PCI about 41.2. Everything including my raid array works fine.
200mhz on the KX7, because it has 1/5th PCI, will only be 40mhz. That means, at 200mhz, my NIC, Video, and RAID will actually be less out of spec than on my KR7A at 166. Which is good, and I might go higher.
As for RAM, well ill likely have to knock down the settings to get that high, but i have PC2700 so I should beable to get there no problems. And I know the CPUs can take it, since otherpeople are having good luck :)

Nice scores guys, I just popped in a Leadtek ti4400, and have clocked to 315MHz core, 650MHz RAM.....getting 10560 on 3dmark2001se, I think some BIOS tweaking is in order, seems a little low.
btw, thats on a 2.13Gig P4
ps: medal of honour at 1600*1200 is AWESOME :)

Yell I would say we both have DAMN good scores for a Ti 4400:)

Wow its odd that my score is close to urs amd man but u have a much much higher FSB, when i up'd by FSB by 9 i gained almost 1000 marks, does the affect wear off when ur fsb gets much higher?
http://service.madonion.com/compare?2k1=3362074
im on a leadtek 4400
other details are in the compare thing

Don't know, JaFFa try upping your fsb to about 160 or soo and post your results:D
I just ran my system at your specs,
143fsb
300/625
I was able to hit 11220:cool:
And then uped it by nine to
152fsb
300/625
And was able to hit 11713

JaFFa what do your bios settings look like for your memory?
JaFFa
5th May 2002, 07:20 PM
cas 2 all the way (2-2-2). 1t command set to auto. 4 bank module... um, cant rem any more off hand. What are yours like? I cant get my pc much above 143fsb, i am waiting for my new hs... got one of those heatpipe things, at the mo im still on the stock hs which i found on overclockers.co.uk for 6 quid :P Havent even changed the thermal compound yet :xdunce:
I have an 80mm coolermaster blowing out on the back but its driectly in line with the cpu fan, Could this be taking the air away from the place the cpu fan would be sucking it from? My temps are pretty bad, 60c load, you think it would be worth reversing the fan?

Well FaFFa, Its kinda wierd! In my case (yours may be differnent) my card scores better at the lower fsb scores! If you look in a different thread I broke 12K at 155fsb then I went up to 160 and the score went back down to somthing like 11400:mad: So I dont know if it could be relateted to AGP settings in the bios???
Seems if you manually set the timings then its harder to raise fsb, but if you select turbo and let mem be controlled SPD then I can raise FSB higher and it still at 2-2-2-5-1, 4-way.. So i dont know the difference. Also in the bios look at all the AGP settings you can play with, (AGP performance control)(Fast Writes) all will have inpacts on your score? Well I am in the process of burning in this Samsung ram, Been looping 3d2001 and using sandra mem burn to get this ram flyin, Right now I am at 2.8v 180fsb 2-2-2-5-1-4way. All manually set! XP2000+@1980Mhz stable soo far:D

as seen 2 posts back i got 2405 with my old drivers 220 and mem 440
well i now using the 28.84 drivers
and now i am getting 220/440 => 2345 ? hmmmz ok these are lower, that could be the new drivers
so i set my geforce on 230/450 => 2235 ???? (eeek ? )
well ok, maybe i haven't overclocked my geforce lately but i thought if you overclock your card you should higher scores, Not ??? !!
what is happening ?
could it be that my card can't follow anymore (makes little mistakes )and thus that the score gets lower, however when i look @ the benchmarks i see a certainly improvements
with the 230/450 setting i get more fps in the chopper and the harbour scene. but my scores are getting worse , what gives ?
JaFFa

the new detanator drivers are unlikely to contain any performance increases for your video card, I believe the 'sweetspot' for the GTS was around the 21.xx to 23.xx series of drivers. The 23.11's seem to be the ones that people recommend most. Newer drivers may bloat your system with needless features.
Try going back to older drivers and the overclock on your card is fine until you start seeing artifacts or what people sometimes call 'snow' on your screen in 3d games (eg little white flexs or dots) higher frequency on the vid card will always be better, its just amatter of finding the limit at which the card is stable...
JaFFa
6th May 2002, 11:17 PM
also remember that there is a margin of error in 3dmark running the same test twice can give different results, sometimes a lot different. If you were lucky the first time and unlucky the second the gap would effectively be doubled.... Also i presume your doing all this testing under the same circumstances, ie fresh boot with defragged hd and all the other stuff each time?
AFroDYme
7th May 2002, 11:22 AM
jep
fresh reboot => everything in taskbar off, and they were all done in a time period of 1 or 3 hours.
i know that news drivers aren't always better, but i still don't understand that my scores go BACK if i increase my overclock :-(
MrP
7th May 2002, 11:20 PM
i might be barking up the wrong tree here, but dosent 3dmark take some notice of quality.
IE you overclock to a set frequency and get no artifacts, you go up another 5 mhz and get a lower score cos of some artifacts?
toodles :xsofa:
AFroDYme
8th May 2002, 07:04 AM
maybe
but i don't seen any artifacts :-)
JaFFa
8th May 2002, 10:12 AM
i dont think 3dmark can tell if artifacts appear on screen, the 'image quality' tests are not taken into account on the final score, they are more for the user to judge.
I might be wrong on this tho.
try running the tests again and c if they alter, dont change nething but the clock speed
