I think the review makes it clear that I like it a lot. especially at the <£90 price you can find it for.

I have used the SMC too, I installed it at a customers office and while it is nice, the user interface is not as intuitive and refined as the Linksys. The Linksys is the one I use at home.

Linksys is the easiest to setup I recently set one up for my brother with their newly released software which makes it ABC simple, Hook up modem directly to NIC then it records all your ip info then it asked you to hook the modem to the wan port it applies all the saved settings and your DONE.

I got the Dlink 704P cause it was on sale. Works okay, the only personal router ive used myself, so I dont know if anythig is better or worse ;)

My general opinion is that apart from very advanced and rarely used features like VPN a router should be a fairly generic piece of kit, with only ease of setup as a determining factor.
NAT is now pretty much worked out, and there is no longer any excuse for bugs in the implementation.

Exactly my point I find the GUI for the Linksys the best of them all.

As a point of interest I have written a utilitie to allow automatic settting of the LinkSys. The configuration is normally via web pages. my utilitie can access the web page and change values, so for example I schedule turning on and off my childrens internet access at certain times of the day.

thats pretty cool, jema is there a way that i can restrict bandwidth to certain comps on the network such that certain IP's on the LAN can only recieve data at a certain rate??

In a word NO. I have not heard of this sort of option on other routers either.
