Now that i got my Volcano 7+ i'am hiking up the CPU. My CPU is at 1.67Volts right now...Is there a rule of thumb when to increse? I tried to boot at 1Ghz the other day..not thinking about The CPU voltage...it was loading windows and was acting funny so i quickly shut it down(CPU fan was on High). What about memory timing etc... is there anything else i need to know before i try this feat again? Told my mom to try keeping my room cool so my system don't get as hot. Any suggestions will help.

1.67 volts is pretty low don't be scared of using all the way up to 1.85v especially with a good cooler like that. all you need to do is keep a close eye on the temperature... more than 50c and it's time to back off.

the rule of thumb on increasing voltage is when you encounter instability, pic a speed try to run at it and if you crash turn the voltage up a notch and try aagin. once you've found a speed and voltage combo that looks stable give it a damn good hammering with loops of 3dmark, prime95, seti or something similer and if your computer runs for a day or two like that then your fine :)

I took your advice and bumped up my voltage to 1.72V and then bumped my cpu up to 963Mhz. I ran prime95 all night and played on the net for a wile. Temp never went above 39C and it was about 75F in my room. I was checking out e-bay and there is a watercooling kit on there for 60USD..Althou i have no clue about them is the link.here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2019508504)

yeah that looks like the becooling kit, not a bad setup and a few people around here use it. personally though at 39c i would be more than happy, thats a good low temp, i'd only go water cooled if temps were v.high or noise is a problem
