Hey guys I have a Visiontek GeForce3(Not Ti) coming and I was curious as to what the best drivers are and what type of 3dMark score I can acheive with my current system, I was going to be shooting for maybe 9500. I am used to ATI as that is all I have ever owned, any tips, or tricks would be greatly appreciated. Oh and what can I use to o'clock it?

Hi NY, you will need to remove all the old Radeon drivers and have the current Radeon set as Standard PCI Graghics adapter before you install the G/F3 or the drivers. I would actually set the G/F the same before you try and put any drivers on. Hmmm actually if your running Win XP I am not sure how to change vid cards. NVMAX is a good O/C proggy for Nvidia cards. www.nvmax.com

Hey NY. I own a Visiontek GeForce3 myself. Nice card. You should get a prett sweet overclock with it too. It is still nothing compared to this G4 ti4600 though :P. I would run the latest 28.90 det drivers, as I am running those now on my G4, and I just pulled my highest 3d mark 2001 score with them. Something you may want to do, that I never did with my geforce3, but DID do with my geforce4, is remove the heatsink from the GPU and apply some Arctic Silver. This usually helps you squeeze out a few more Mhz on your overclock. Since you have been nothing but ATI..Some very BASIC things of course would be to disable V-sync in the drivers control panel...of course...and If you want to pull the highest speed possible in benchmarks and such, you will want to go to the Direct 3d tab in the drivers and set it for "Best Performance". You will probably the well known coolbits registry hack to get the overclocking panel in the driver configurations to show up. You can find it at http://www.3dchipset.com
I dont know what other information I could throw out at you, like I said, I own this very same card, so if you have any questions in particular about it, Id be glad to answer them to the best of my ability. You will love this card Im sure. I would expect to see an overclock around 230/530 ...atleast....on that card, as this is the general area that mine overclocked to, with standard out of the box cooling. Good luck with it NY, and BTW- Welcome aboard the Nvidia boat...lol :p :p
