Hi all

I've just been lucky enough to replace both my home machines RAID0 arrays and backup drives with 6 * WD 800JBs with 8Mb cache.

Initial NON raid benches in HD Tach show about a 5Mb a sec increase over my old D740x Maxtors, not bad at all, hitting around 50Mb/s peak.

Yeah these JB series are awesome drives :) I have a pair of 100JB drives in my raid array. Probably the best investment Ive made yet :)

Hiya

I've tried some HD Tach benches and Sisoft and though the figures are awesome for a single drive, when in RAID0 with a 64k stripe using HPT370A controller the benches are terrible.

Any ideas m8 ?

ps: the systems feels fast enough though

Maybe you need to defrag your hard disks? I dont really like Sandra, it just doesn't give consistant HD results. HD Tach doesn't use the windows interface so its a bit bunk too, especially for raid controllers.

I like WinBench 99. Will show you your exact MB/s chart, like HDTach, only it uses the windows drivers, so its accurate. My dual JBs peak over 90mbs, faster than my 60GXPs :)
