I recently got a Compaq Deskpro EN 6350 very cheap. It came with a voodoo 3 3000 pci which i took out and fitted a Creative Geforce 2 GTS (after ripping the totally non standard case apart to get it to fit), it seemed fine at first, i got a display and installed the drivers but then i went to run Quake 3 (which worked fine with the Voodoo) and it just hangs as soon as the game starts. I tried several other games and the same thing happened. I also tried the card in my main rig and it works fine, and i tried installing win98 cos I originally installed XP and i thought it could be something to do with it.

Here's the spec..

Intel P2 400
288MB Kingston PC133
Geforce 2 GTS
30GB Maxtor 7200rpm ATA 100

Thanks!

Silly question - did you reconfigure everything (including the games) for use with the GF2?

oh thats too easy... NOT ENOUGH POWER!!! Those little rigs only have enough power for whatever's in them... plus *maybe* an extra drive. The GTS draws some serious power off the port it uses.

Oh well back to the Voodoo i suppose
:( i hate it, it's so old and really sucks lol and doesn't like XP much.

Thanks for your input guys!

Why don't you just pop in a new power supply? 300 watter!
