Hello I 'm having some trouble booting my computer I just set he drives in raid 0 using Ctrl H went through the steps set one of them to boot and the other hid itself automatically. Then tried to reboot with a win me Boot disk and it tells me "Invalid system disk replace the disk and then press any key" (where's the any key? (Joke ha-ha) I tried a different boot disk and got this message "Disk I/O error Replace the disk and press any key" This is my first time installing raid. I tested the floppy drive on another computer it works fine I tried 3 different floppy cables same messages. Any idea why my machine is doing this do I have a bad motherboard or did I over look some setting in the bios thanks for all your help in advance.

Welcome to the board :xwavey: BURNER-X
Well... no. i can't believe that there is something wrong with your board.
As your first time with Raid0, here is the steps:
- Set yours Hds on IDE 3 and IDE4 as master.
- Go to the bios, on "Advanced Bios Feature" set "first, second and third boot device as "ATA 133Raid".On "integrated Pheripherals" set ATA 133 Raid Controller as "Enable".
- Reboot, and hit "Ctrl H" to enter to the bios raid.
- Set your Raid0 now.One advice: use 16K or 64K on Block size.If most of your time you're working with audio/video edition, try 64K, if not, stay with 16k.Some reviews consider 64K is the best goal.I'm using 16K/16K.
- Reboot.
- Go to the bios and on "Advanced Bios Feature" set the first boot device as "Floppy".
- Make a partition now.Well, there is a bug in Microsoft's FDISK under WIndows 95, 98 and 98SE, but not in ME.You can use then a FDISK command without a problem.
- Reboot.
- Make a Format operation. Here, if you choose 16K on Block size, format yours hds with 16K on cluster size. You can do that in this way: Format c:/z:32.Do that for all partitions that you create.Of course, change the letters.
- Boot your machine from the floppy, with CD-ROM support enabled.
- Place your WindowsME installation CD in the drive and type "E:" then "SETUP" (assuming E is the CD-ROM drive) to start the Windows installation process.
- Once Windows has finished installation, immediately install the latest Highpoint drivers. Do this by going to My Computer, Properties, Device Manager, Other Devices, PCI Mass Storage Controller. Right-click on this, select the driver tab and then Update Driver. Specify the location of your Highpoint drivers and you're done.
It's all.I hope this help you.Let me know how it perform.
Enjoy the board :)
Regards.

Hi BURNER-X
Well, i assume that you changed the option on bios for first boot device as "Floppy, ok?The Floppy disk fail (40) or (80) errors are related to the computer floppy drive. This issue can be caused by any of the following possibilities:
1-Floppy cable not connected properly
2-Bad floppy cable
3-Bad Floppy drive - I/O
For the first option:
- Verify that the floppy disk drive cable is properly connected.
- If the floppy disk drive light stays on and does not shut off,This can be caused by one of the following two possibilities.
Floppy drive data cable is not connected properly.(Verify that the floppy cable pin one is connected properly to the back of the floppy drive and to the I/O \ Motherboard. Generally pin one is always closest to the floppy power connector, therefore the red stripe on the floppy cable should be facing the power connector on the back of the floppy drive.
Floppy drive is bad.
For the second option:
- If the floppy disk drive appears to be setup properly an the light is not always on it is possible that the floppy drive cable may be bad.
For the third option:
- If the issue persists unfortunately it is likely that either the floppy drive is bad or the I/O board or Motherboard is bad.|Here, try
to change the floppy drive.

I used a 16k stripe Format c:/z:32 is this the fastest way to do this
I use my computer for online games and homework when I have it. so like office word, internet and games. Is 64k faster then 16k ? you tell me your the guru :D . it's formatting now really slow with Format c:/z:32

In my opinion in your situation 16K is better.
it's formatting now really slow with Format c:/z:32
That is normal.remember that you have 120GB now to format :)it uses to take more time to do this operation.
