Hi,

I'm trying to digitaly convert .mmp sound files to .mp3 but i cant find a suitable programm.I can only playback the mmp files but cant convert them to mp3 (or at least wav).

If you know of any good converters that might do the job, please reply.
I have searched the web for various converters but i cant find one that supports these files.

PS: .mmp files are mp3-like files from the same company that made mp3.But they're older.

Hi The Therion,

Boy, am I confused.......
.MMP files are supposed to be:
"The .mmp file is a temporary file used by Extended MAPI (and hence CDO) to store certain profile information during the active session. This file should be deleted after the user logs off and the session is closed.

Because these files are created dynamically, the account running the ASP page (usually the Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) Anonymous Logon account: IUSR_Server) needs to have change permissions on the %windir% directory."

These .mmp file pertain to:
Microsoft Exchange Server, version 5.0
Microsoft Internet Information Server version 3.0.

Help me out here??

Am I in left field or what. (Don't really answer that.)

Take care.......

Can you give us an example of an mmp file, and something to play it with? I'll have a dig at some odd video editing utilities, some of which can do weird things with sound I don't claim to understand :)

Yes i'm sorry .I didnt give much info on that.I just didnt expect there were more than 1 .mmp extension file types around.

It seems there are at least 3!

The ones i'm intrested in, are compressed sound files.
I think i saw somewhere the acronym MMP being explained as Multi Media Protection protocol.

Ah ,here it is. The programm that can playback these files is called Win Play by Opticom. ( www.opticom.de ) But it cant convert them.

I hope this helps you, cause it didnt help me! <img src=http://homepages.pathfinder.gr/Defiant/sm/toothbreaks.gif>

Would that be Modular Multitrack Player ?

Dont really know Pistol :(

All i know is that this standard was used before mp3 ,and i'm almost certain it was created from "Fraunhofer" ,the company that later created the mp3 standard.

And frankly ,i'm amazed that i cant find conversion possibility between the 2 ... :(

I believe that must be it.However who would want to have sound files and songs in a file type that only one programm can use?How do you load it to your portable mp3 player for example ? This is weird....

Thanks for helping out.It seems though that this issue dies hard.

I searched the hitsquad site for any kinds of converters but nothing on mmp.The files i have are not midi. They are just like mp3.

The search continues....

(thanks for everybody's help so far :) )
