Mate of mine has installed XP on his machine. Not sure if it is the home or Pro version if it makes a difference. His mouse and keyboard worked when he installed it, but the next day booted his machine up and both were dead. He has tried un-plugging and plugging them back in but it makes no difference.

What you reckon? Software or hardware or bios problem?

I'd put my money on it being a windows related prob.
Try his keyboard and mouse on an another computer to see if they work. Also, does the keyboard work at all (can you get to bios)? If it doesn't then it might as well be that his motherboard went byebye..

Hi lolboy,

Silly question but, has the USB been disabled in BIOS?
I've seen that happen more than once.

Take care.........

I assume so cos it was working one day but I'll get him to check just to make sure.

He's re-installed ME and everything works fine, must be an XP problem.
