I'm thinking of getting a better graphics card than the one currently running!!!....only problem is it has to be a pci as I have no AGP slots.... motherboard only has three pci slots and a slot for the old style cards. Any suggestions as to which to go for??....or is 32mb as good as it gets for pci cards??
thanks in advance

To be honest I wouldn't recommend you getting a new graphics card at all with your current system...
The problem is that you are severly limited with a PCI card, and the Voodoo that you have is probably the fastest thing in your system anyway! I'd personally shell out £150 on an new mobo (with AGP slot ;)) and a duron 800, the difference to your machine will be better than upgrading your graphics card...
Even better still do the above, and then get an AGP GFX card too :)
Your in Portsmouth near me... I know a local computer shop that will part ex your old stuff for you if you are interested ;)

ill agree with Gibbon...
i would invest that money into upgrading your system as a whole.......you can basically get a good mobo and a good cpu for around 200 bucks together....
you can probably use your same harddrive for now..same cd-rom, a-drive....then you can spend 50 bucks and get some ddr ram for that new mobo(buy some more later if you find the cash). Might be a plan..

well if you let me know what sort of price I'd get for this dated pile of crud I'll way the pros with cons and no doubt get myself a nice new system but the cash side of things is gonna be the big problem.... I'd probably be lucky to get a £100 for this thing although it's only a couple of years old but I'm interested and I'll let you know when the time for me is good(i.e the bank has cash to spare...lol:D )
cheers for the honest approach guys

just being honest, and depending on where you try to sell it, you can probably get $300-400 dollars USA money. BUT, there is a big difference as to what you can get and to what its worth. Personally, i dont think its worth much more than 300 bucks though...
But keep in mind, i am wrong very often!

Cheers you funky monkey!!!lol
I'll probably wait a bit before going for the whole nine yards but if I can get enough for this then I'll be able to add a little extra onto the new system..... what would it be better to do??...sell private or part-x??.... also just to let you know it's all brand new as when it took a tumble they re-placed everything in the tower with new ....except the psu which was the only surviving thing!!!... so it's all about 2 weeks old now...lol not that that'll make a difference.
cheers again gibbon
