lets see, nine case fans, two ps supply fans, vid card fan (s), chipset fans and ram fans, plus four hard drives with raid card, two CD roms, a volt modded motherboard, of course overclocked, and the ran juiced to make it all work, and all running off one PS.

i could hear the fluctuations in fan speeds with every mouse click, and this was with a Powmax 500 watter and or the PC Power and Cooling 431 watter i use for the main P/S's.

i have a 26" tall tower with tons of room for a second P/S. Added a Sparkle 300 watter, took about 45 minutes to cut and drill, two wires to a switch to an unused bay cover and walla. simple mod, P/S's are stacked and it look factory.

no more fluctations in fannage, no more funny reboots for what seems no reason.

no damage was done to the P/S's, either one. i wired numba 2 to a toggle switch rather than modding it to fire with the same switch as the other P/S, makes working on either a piece o cake.

anyone with lots of fans should consider this. in the over all picture it allows for a cleaner power input on the motherboard, no fan oscillations or strange voltage drops on the 5 volt line.

just thought you would like to know.

yes, it did increase the case temps a bit, 1*C is all, I can live with that.

if you want pics, let me know.

Glad to hear your system is purring right along.
