Yep....that card supports both.

These settings were sometimes known to cause instabilities with earlier VIA chipsets (KX133 KT133 KT133A). But more recent chipsets such as the AMD 760 and VIA KT266A seems to handle these settings well.

In fact, found that the AMD 760 KG7 was the first mobo for me that handled AGPX4 and fastwrites without a hiccup. However, if you find them to be a source of trouble, disabling them doesn't cost much in terms of performance.

One tip...if you find these settings are causing issues, take a look at the Nvidia driver you are using. The 23.11 driver causes a lot of users trouble, so if that is your driver I suggest trying the 21.85. It is rock solid and runs great with WinXP and aggressive memroy timings.

hey there... just read that post and have a couple of questions..

I have the GF3 Ti200. and the Asus K7V mobo, with the VIA KX133 chipset. In that last post you said that the KX133 had some instabilities with the 4x AGP setting, and also fast writes - if i want to enable that, is there anyway of getting round the problems? maybe updated 4in1 drivers or something? (i'm kinda grabbing at straws there)

any help would be good -thanks :)

It's always worth a shot. Perhaps that latest VIA AGP VxD driver that comes with the VIA 4in1s may help. I was never successful getting AGPX4 or fastwrites to work myself on the KX133 KA7-100, but that was over a year ago now. Give it a shot...nothing to lose:)
