Ok I have to buy a new chip to replace my 1800+ that just went south for no reason. I'm on the fence right now. I want to get a 1600+ with a agoga stepping that I can get from pcnut.com @ $135.00 OEM but I see I can get a Retail 1600+ from newegg.com for $126.00 but O don't know if it's a agkga or agoga. Does the stepping really matter and does it pay to get a Retail chip instead of a OEM chip. I really want to go with the one from newegg because of ther reputation and price also it's a retail chip with a 3 yr. warranty. Any thoughts are welcome. I plan to buy the chip tonight when I get home from work because it hurts to see all my new parts doing nothing (again) :xgunsl:

Hi Farabomb,
Retail chips give a warrenty.
If ya toast it, clean it up and get another for free.
What a deal........

Ok First on the stepping issue it seems that AGOGA pretty much all clock well but that does not mean that the AGKGA don't. My AGKGA 4 week 34 will do 1750 on 1.85v, thats no slouch to me.
As for the retail Vs OEM, I learned my lesson when my 1.2 died I picked up the retail 1600+ and the day I bought I got a power surger which killed my KK266-R and my XP Sent both back and got new ones. AMD FedEx Priority overnighted me a new one. So I say go with the Retail.
