FSB and top speed

three questions: with my 900MHz t-bird and a freespeed pro, can i go higher than 1000mhz? Lolboy wrote that the 10.5 multiplier is not supported by slot A mobo's. what gives? i'd like to use the FSB program by H.Oda to up the bus speed, but can't find the program to download. all links dump me to his website, but while the utility clock speed indicator program is downloadable, the program to CHANGE the speed is not. finally, how necessary is it to take off the exchange plate and redo the actual chip-plate conduction using arctic silver, or can i just use the alpha HS attached to the exchange plate with the thermal grease that comes with it?? if the above answers are that 1000 is the max, i may not need to take the plate all the way off.
(my mobo is from compaq, does not support mods via bios/jumpers.)

Jmb, unless you can up your FSB then your a bit stuck at a gig (not a bad thing really) cos the chipsets of the slot A motherboards don't support multipliers higher than 10x. Sorry. :(

Sorry, forgot to say you can use the paste that comes with a heatsink but AS2 is the most popular choice.
