Hello

Would someone know or help me out on selecting a cpu. Which one is better?:

AMD ATHLON XP 1500+ 1.33GHz 1330Mhz OEM Socket A Palamino CPU

AMD ATHLON XP 1600+ 1.4GHz 1400Mhz OEM Socket A Palamino CPU

AMD Athlon Palomino MP 1200Mhz 1.2Ghz 266Mhz FSB Processor

AMD Athlon ThunderBird Socket A 1333Mhz ( 1.333 Ghz ) OEM 266Mhz AYHJA Dye FSB CPU

AMD Athlon ThunderBird Socket A 1400Mhz ( 1.4Ghz ) OEM 266Mhz FSB with AYHJA Core CPU

I have this one:
AMD Athlon ThunderBird Socket A 1.33Ghz 266Mhz FSB.

Not happy with it.
Now which one of these are easy to overclock?
What does Dye mean?

Thanks in advance,
Joe

Well The XP's are harder to unlock but they outperform the T-Birds so go with the fastest XP that you can afford, my 1600+(1400mhz) will do 1750mhz

they are hard to unlock, easy to over clock, the hard bit about the unlocking is a very deep cut between the L1 bridges this needs to be filled in before the connections can be made

and yes the kg7 will work with the XP

I have Athlon 1400 and those L1 bridges was already connected,
so I think it's very easy to overclock but if you unlock a new XP processor it would go much higher than Athlon....

I just unlocked my XP1500 after 3 attempts,it's now running at 1438Mhz at 39 degs max, using an Akasa icicle and duel 80 side fans for exhaust. Also interesting that its rock solid stable at 1.6 volts!
If i change the clock multipier any higher than 10.5 though, the bios wont save and then no post so i have to erase the cmos to reboot so just a bit of a tweak up to 137FSB and 10.5 x 137. It'll do untill someone tells me why it wont clock up higher! maybe i didnt bridge all 5 pins well enough?!
