I'm just about to do a format and reinstall for a friend but he can't remember what his password is for his pop3 e-mail account. He wants to keep the same e-mail address otherwise I'd just sign him up again.
Before I wipe the drive is there a way of locating the password without calling his ISP at £1 per min.

I assume the password is currently stored in the software (e-mail) program. If so, chances are at some point you will see a password box with ******** in it. There are programs which un-hide the ***s, I think one is snadboy(s) revalator but I haven't seen it in a while so can't be sure of the name.
