Hi

I just got a hand me down motherboard, my bro just gave it to me. I have been doing some research and found many diffrent ways to Oc the athlon 750.

My questions is how do I find out what core I have?

For the KA7, do I need the GFD to Oc the Athlon 750?, many don't and some do.

What is the max speed have a 750 got without the use of a GFD?

Thanks for the time~!!!

Welcome to Ninja :xwavey:

Best way to find out core you have is to strip the Athy down to the core and have a look (check my link below for info on how to do this) or you could try using your serial number stamped on the plastic casing of the Athy check it against the tables in this link: http://www.multimania.com/realathlon

To overclock the Athy you could try upping the bus speed in the bios but this may not be successful as some peripherals in your PC may not like this. This will lead to stability problems. The best way is to get yourself a Gold Finger Device (GFD) like the Freespeed Pro and up the mulitplier. With a GFD you should see 150/200 meg over your core speed up to a gig.

Good Luck, Lolboy.
