Hi everybody!
This is really unbelievable!!! This is from overclockers.com page:

"Innovatek Smashes Swiftech"?? Tom's Hardware reviewed two water cooling kits HERE, one from a German company Innovatek and another from Swiftech. I see so many bad reviews that I usually just shake my head. This time I feel I have to speak out for what I think is an unfair review. What caught my eye is this statement in the Conclusion:

"Swiftech bases its system on a passive heat exchanger that runs without a fan".

Funny - on Swiftech's site, the Swiftech Barebones Kit is pictured with what looks like two 120mm fans. Considering that the Swiftech unit apparently was tested !!!WITHOUT FANS!!! and was only a couple of degrees C warmer than the Innovatek, I'm frankly surprised it did so well. Anyone who is into watercooling knows that fans are required with radiators. Add the fans and I doubt that "Innovatek Smashes Swiftech" holds up. This is like a prize fight where one fighter has one arm.

I read that review and my adrenaline get extremely high, these amateurs on tomshardware shold be arrested!!!! You can see here typicall german point of view->always prefering their crappy products. It is same with cars if you read some stupid german car magazine german car is always the best especially VW is the best car on the world....They run Swiftech kit without fan & even in these unfair condition that german rubbish is only few degrees better(with fan of course). These guys should go to doctor to examine their stupid brains...running watercooling without fan on the rad.....this really ****** me off!!
I think that this page shoul be shot down.....
what do you think???

here is link to these stupid brains: http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/02q1/020102/index.html

Shouldnt this be in the flame forum? Or at least in Cooling & Modification :)

I have to agree that this article was down right ugly in terms of content. Definately not some of their best work. But, tomshardware has never been a hardcore overclocking site to begin with. Some of their articles are good, some of them can be very single minded, and I think most of their comparisons are under developed and researched at best.

I really only skimmed the article, and I dont see if they mentioned using a fan or not. I hope they did. I think many of the conclusions on the Swiftech kit are wrong...the MCW462 waterblock itself, when used with larger fittings, is one of the best waterblocks around. The kit comes with a great little Eheim pump. But they use 1/4" ID tubing and a very sub par radiator, and this really hurts the kit performance.

Fact of the matter is, there ARE no decent water cooling kits out yet.

blimy, shocking that tomshardware would produce such an inaccurate report they are considered one of the best in the business... have you tried mailing then and pointing out the fan problem?

I agree with most of the conclusions made so far and also hat this post is in the wrong forum, as such I am moving it to The Cooling forum.

that is why a review must be cross ckecked with other sites by viewers

tomshardware will receive quite some flame mails

Hi Dave!
German cars are NOT NOT NOT NOT:D :D the best cars in the world.I`m not saying that they I wrong, I personally like BMW or AUDI but look at those japanese turbos!!:Impreza,Skyline....or another example:show me some german 2.0 litre without turbo/compresor doing 240HP like Honda S2000.:D :D Where are those german miracles???

Come on guys,

get real - the Jap stuff is clever tech but ain't got no soul or class, nothing out of Japan can touch a BMW !

guys relax, when it comes to cars ,it depends on what each of you values most : comfort or sport performance and feeling.

ofcourse there is a special forum for cars :D

ok...lets stop talking about cars on this thread,we should start something on cars forum.....

looks like there are more reactions to my opinion on german cars than on to that stupid page...which was the very first reason to post this thread....

Well are you really surprised by what Tom's hardware did?
It's called Bias my friend, and you might as well get used to it.

I thought that it was just something that affected the U.S. news media but I can see that it's spreading all over the world.
Here in the U.S. you can't sit down and watch the news without witnessing some Bias slant to the news.

It's no surprise to me that bias has worked it's way into online forums.

LOL, even thogh the toms hardware reviews swiftnets kit as inferior... which may be quite likely, it still does the job even without the fan.

unfortunatly i am NOT imporessed by either temperature figure... still running at close to 50c doesnt cut it for me if im gonna pay $100 for a cooler

and why do we never see any extreme cooling on an intel oc'd system?

Hi Guys,

Sorry about the cars diversion but I just couldn't resist - somehow I thought it would get more attantion that the Toms site issue !

As with anything else with cars it's "each to their own !"

Cheers all

Dave.

(P.S. try any of that Jap stuff against an M3 or M5 - BMW wins every time)

(P.P.S - will anyone take the bait AGAIN ?????)

"and why do we never see any extreme cooling on an intel oc'd system?"

Cause the money is better spent on upgrading to a superior Athlon based system, of course :)

and of coarse i agree with that.
but why then dont the "AMD sux Intel ROX" people do any extreme cooling?
i am just curious how much it would help and intel processor
