Well I've finnaly converted my rig over to water cooling heres how it stands now :
Abit KG7-Raid with 1.4 AYHJA Y week 28 with Swiftech MCW462 water block and Leufkins pelt(156w 50mm)and I also have a Northbridge&Geforce block care of Dangerden although the Northbridge block is too bulky at the moment I need to contact Dangerden about how much i can cut into the block to allow for clearance of the capasitors(sp?)damn KG7!! the Geforce block fits nicely and is doing pretty good from early tests but I havent thrown much at it yet...so far on the cpu , going by the Digidoc5's thermal probe attached right against the side of the core at 1700mhz(170x10) my temps are under no load 3-7C and 27-33C under full load with a core voltage of 2.19v, Ive let it Prime now for 4hrs and everything seems fine, I hope to attempt getting my clock higher soon but right now I'm satisfied with 1.7 ,I need to straighten out this mess I have and all but I can say that I'm very impressed with the prelim results and I'll post soon soon with more and maybe some pics, later
[edit] Oh BTW I'm using a 4ft bong with a 120mm YS Tech fan for cooling the water and a Enmheim 1048 pump

sounds like a sweet system, so is the kg7 different to the other abit boards? i thought the amd spec sheet specified a large clear area around the socket where things couldn't be above a certain height?

Sooo Wee, How do you like the old pelter setup?? When I went pelter, I did not like it to much, It just seemed like alot of trouble to get your cpu to -5c and still not beable to clock a whole lot higher....

Ohh and what kind of Psu are you using? and what kind of silicone did you use to water proof your socket, was it dow conformal coating?

Id bet youd get better full load temperatures without the peltier.

player0 Im thinking my full load temps were better with the swiftech462 air cooler(at least they didnt have as much swing to them) i had but i cant remember for sure I seem to recall them being in the 50's tho but with just the water block Im sure youre right the pelt does create a lot of heat I wonder how a lower voltage pelt would fare? the PSU is a Enermax 431w, the KG7 has capacitors around the Northbridge and theres no way to even put a Blueorb on it but I'm thinking with a little grinding I can make this DangerDen block fit(crosses fingers) and yes it's a lot of trouble but before I was able to get maybe 1650 at 2.09v and it would prime succesfully now I can up the voltage to 2.19v and get 1700mhz to prime indefinetly tho thats only a 50mhz increase I'm thinking I can squeeze some more outta her but I think I could be at the end of this chip, gonna try 1785mhz later(170x10.5) I'll post my results, just got in and checked my mail so after I tend to the ol lady I'll get back to the comp and see what I can get going, later

Above 1650mhz, a 156w peltier doesnt have enough juice for any athlon. You will get better full load temperatures without it, I can almost guarantee you.

Yeah...your stuck with 40mm blocks on the KG7 northbridge...none of my 50mm blocks will fit.

if you have a poly-block you can just dremel out to make room for the caps. :)
When I got my kg7 and saw those 2 caps so close I thought I was screwed, but fortunately I had two poly blocks given to me for my nb and vid card(chose those for 2 reasons 1 they were free ;) and 2 their very light. but yeah, I wish these manufacturers would stay uniform on these things so if you want to add better cooling it can be accomodated.
they just dont build 'um with the overclocker in mind :(Originally posted by Player0
