:confused: Can somebody walk me through over clocking my Dell Dimension with a Pentium ll 233 MHz/66 MHz external. I have no clue how to do it. I need help. and do I need a program to do so, if so where can I get one. And what is the highest I can go. somebody told me 333 MHz is this true. The reason IM doing this cause I want to install windows XP on the computer, IM currently running windows Me should I upgrade to XP first. I have 384 Megs of SDRAM in my computer. I hope you can help me thanks

Hullo,

sorry anyone hasnt replied to before, but welcome to the board anyway :xwavey:

asfor overclocking your dell, i think you will find it veryhard. Dells dont over clock, as and you have probably found, there arnt any options in the BIOS.

the only chance you have got (as far as iknow) is to try a software tool like CPUCool and see if that find any options for you ( http://www.podien.de
)

ifyou want it to go faster, the other option you have is to try some of the computer fairs, and se if you can get a 300 or 333 processor to put in your machine (so long as your dell supports it)

good luck, and let us know how you go on

toodles :xsofa:
