hi guys, i have been using this S/C for some time now under XP but i think ther may be a problem with the inbuilt drivers, sometimes my comp crashes and a sound just keeps playing over and over, i think this is either an issue with the FSB which is at 108 at the mo or more likely the driver, thing is i cant seem to find any on the creative page. any ideas on wher i can find some XP specific drivers??? TIA
nitan :)

Nitan, I had all sorts of driver problems with XP and creative cards. I tried my trusty AWE64 and also a PCI 128. Neither would work properly whatever drivers I tried, and I have sen stack of people having problems with the sounblaster live too. In their normal fashion Creative driver support is dreadfull. I hasten to point out its not all PC combinations that give problems, but there are plenty that do.
My solution? I got a Turtle beach Santa Cruz (sold in the UK as Videologic Sonic Fury)
Result? Better sound quality than I ever got from a creative card, not a single problem with the XP drivers which were published on the Santa Cruz site WEEKS before XP was released, and better support by a zillion times.
I for one will not get another Creative product of any description, at least not until they sort their dreadful driver support out.

Hi Pistol, I didn't run any compatability test, but according to MS both cards were compatible. More than that, according to device manager, both cards installed without issue and both cards were working correctly.
Great! except not a single sound did i hear from the awe 64, and from the PCI 128 all I got was a few sounds, loads of stuttering, shreiks and whisteling, often acompanied by system lockups!
Nitan, it could just be that the combination of Creative card and Via chipset mobo along with XP was the problem. :)
Oh dear, thats what you have :D:D

the problem I was haveing, that xp told me in the compatablity test was part of the SB drivers that contained something called (cd detech) may not be the exact phrase tho, just close to that, and on my other pc with the santa cruz card xp said not compatable, needless to say I did have xp loaded in one of the pc's at one point but for some strange reason it loaded in twice, once in C: and anothed copy in D:,so the comp didnt know which one to run most times,so you can just imagine lol

Hi Nitan.
I don't know if it is the same that came with XP, but did you try <a href="http://www.americas.creative.com/support/files/download.asp?Centric=47&OS=13">This?</a>
