hi jet
in what we could call the good ole days we had a number of members with enormous post counts - unfortunately the board has had to be reset a number of times and these posts have been lost. The tradition remains, of increasing ones post count at any cost, the current breed are led by the potentate Ridcully (leading post wh0re) but others like Baptizer and Therion follow (im surprised at Gibbon and Pistol though ;) ) - their antics include starting one word threads with no meaning and posting a sentence one word at a time!! the real professionals will stay up through the early hours and have conversations untroubled by ryhme or reason - and for what - the post count ..... so if you spot such a conversation or methods employed you just jump in and claim your free post :D
like i did :D

what is a "free" post? and what does mp and hp stand for? (i think hp is hit points as in most games, but what does that mean?)
The Therion
30th December 2001, 02:17 AM
squeaky : me,a post wh0re ??? ....that's a good one
jetrunner : free post is an unnecessary useless post with the only purpose to raise post count.Called FREE because one is given the "oportunity" to post something and have an "excuse" for it ;)
HP=hit points . Here it increases with post count.
MP=mana points/magic points/magic power/mana power .Here= ?
Jetrunner
30th December 2001, 03:09 AM
o ok, thx therion. hmm anyone know what mp is on this site?
tripodal
30th December 2001, 04:42 AM
hp is related to your activity on the board... more posts more hp
also it decreases if a length of time exists between posts... like taking damage.. but when you post again its like healing
mp is related to how long you have been on the board... goes up with senority
nitan

i dont know about that for MP.....looks weird....if it is directly related to the registration date.....then mine and other's mp should be full ( i registered the second day the forum was up........actually it was hours after but the day had changed :D )
Baptizer
31st December 2001, 12:02 PM
I think MP stands for how many days you have been registered, and how many of those days you have posted. For example, i usually post on weekdays....so mine is basically 5/7th of the total days...

Karma is a user rating...this is how people rate you. Anybody can click on your profile and rate you on a scale of 1-5. You can choose not to allow people to rate you by changing the option in your profile. Karma is based on an average of the votes cast. Any user can change their vote at any time to raise or lower another users Karma. Obviously, the more votes cast, the less impact a single vote has.
HP drops and rises according to the members activeness.
MP determins how long a user has been with the forums, and how active they are.
EXP determins how close a user is to reaching the next level.
When the EXP reaches 100%, you "level up" and the EXP starts all over. Included is an HP bonus multiplyer for those who greatly exceeds the 10 post per day average. This way, it's impossible for people with the same level to get the same stats.

hey,, anyone have a "jazz" ? i think its like a zip disk thingy but its different. hmm maybe im just retarded, im not sure

uhm....
So because you have a 'jazz' you are retarded? i dont get it.
Jetrunner
4th January 2002, 01:01 AM
lol no....
im just askin if anybody has a "jaz",, its hardware , its like a zip drive, but its called a "jaz", never had one, just wondering if anybody had one, and if they liked it or not.
Baptizer
4th January 2002, 03:05 PM
hmmm..yea, i understood that part. then at the end you said you were retarded or something. Not sure where that came from, or why. Yea, i have used Jazz zip drives a few times....they are a'ight. The jazz's are nice because they typically have 1gig disks, which is a lot better than the typical 100mb ones.
Jetrunner
5th January 2002, 11:18 AM
i was implying... does anybody know about them... or did i just hear something incorrect (implying im retarded lol). my bad,,, just forget it.. so it holds 1 gig? thats huge,,, i have a zip drive and it holds 100 mb (which you already said) im sure it would be a huge difference to have a jaz. do they work the same? (drag and drop etc.)
