Can someone recommend an "easy to use" web/ftp server for running on windows (98)? Previously I have used Xitami from Imatix, but I found it unfriendly to configure.

G6 FTP Server V2.0

Very easy to use. Once you set up, the user just need the ip to enter you ftp and they don't need to worry about ports and othe rsetting. You can set for password required as well.... It is very easy to use. I am still using this program now for remote purpose:)

Appears that G6 FTP has now become part of BPFTP.

Oh, I forgot to say, the program should be free (as in no cost). That's why I used Xitami in the past but the config is a real pain.

At the moment I'm messing around with AnalogX SimpleServer (web only) but this seems too easy - there's no options!

hey,

A good source for servers and free stuff.....or Free Servers, is Webattack (http://www.webattack.com) .

Check under Freeware > Server Tools.

Personally i use CesarFTP, easy and free.
And Deanos Webserver, also easy and free.
If you don't like config, i shouldn't suggest Apache WebServer?!!:)

Thanks for the link... looking great at the moment, downloading now. But wont have time to try these until I get back from work later...

Unless Apache has been ported to Windows, it's not even on my "check out" list :p Doh! I go to the web server download section and what do I see at the top? Apache for Win32...
