When i installed XP corp everything was fine till i started to get alot of corrupt messages and then everytime i logged into the computer it would just shutdown like that! I wonder whats going on but it never ceases to amaze me, i never thought xp was unstable. Ive only really had the problem with corp and pro version cause i downloaded winxp 2462 once and well that worked perfectly alright but these ones are giving me the S***ts!!!!!..... its annoying but is there anything that anyone can do. I did a full report too see what was wrong and i uninstalled all drivers that were not compatable etc etc. I did clean install i did upgrade i did everything.... NOTHING!!!!!!! i am running a 600 mhz ahtlon, 48speed sony cd rom, 32-4-4 CDRW, aureal sound card, k7m mobo, geforce 256... eerrr one big problem is that this comp is a Hewlett Crapard . Cyas

To correct this problem, i would format your harddrive and then do a clean install(you mentioned clean install, but didnt mention formating). What exactly did you try upgrading from? sometimes, when you upgrade a OS it causes tons of problems....

I would reformat and take out all the cards that arnt neccessary like sound, modem, nic or disable if its all intergrated into the mobo and see if the problem persists, then reinstall cards 1 at a time and isolate the the problematic card.
