Ok,here's the prob.

I went to the abit site and it says about my mobo, that it can host Athlons-Durons of the range of 600-1200.

Is this 100% true?
Or can i use a Thunderbird 1400(not palomino) or a Duron 1200 (morgan) as well?

If yes, would u go from a Duron 700 to a Thunderbird 1400 ,or to a (Morgan ) Duron 1200 which is cooler than the Thunderbird?

What overclocking i would be able to do with those processors?
Would i need to get a better cpu heatsink-fan ?

if their only difference is once more the cache memory....then it wont work with the kt7a v1.0 ,just as the palomino doesnt :(

i'm just asking cause in the site it says Athlon/Duron 600-1200 without excluding the new cores (or mentioning that they work but from version 1.3 and on)

Hi.

The Morgan version of the Duron (1Ghz+) is based on the Palomino core (enough codenames? ;)), wheras the t/bird (700-1.4) and spitfire (600-1000) are based on the previous core. Motherboards that work with the Athlon XP/MP line should work with the Morgan, but ones which don't may not.

Hope this helps.

Palamino and Morgan work fine on any of the KT7A boards, with the latest bios.
