I need something i can bring with me to the couch and bed, run some icq, email, internet. Something to give me an excuse for wireless networking ;)

A couple sites from pricewatch that sell older model laptops for like $300-$500, course ones like this one go for like $500-$550 :)

I have another one thats a Gateway Solo 2200
166mhz mmx cpu 1.4 gig hd. , 48megs ram, Battry (wont hold a charge because insufficint voltage from the power supply) Power supply "if you want the battry working you need to get a gateway one",
win 98 se "or any other one", Cdrom drive, Floppy, Good screen, New bios, Ready to go!!!
Also has video out... "it was a presentation model"

Its not as valuable as the dell so ill part with it for $150 + Shipping...

A simalar one (not as good) sold for $162.50 HERE (http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1303561617)

but its not as good as this one... it has a 150mhzcpu non mmx This is what he said
"This is a Gateway Solo 2200. It is a 150MHZ with 40mb or Ram and a 1GB hard drive. It has Win95 and office 97 already installed on it. Floppy drive and 56k modem
are included along with the ac power supply. The Battery does not work."

the missing powersupply thing might be a major downfall, i cant seem to find a replacement for under $90. If the battery is dead too, thats another $50-$100 I guess. Without those...im afraid the laptop probably isnt worth much, at least to me...i need the battery power :)

Those caliber of machines do go on ebay for $125-$175 it seems. But they have powersupplies. But they dont have a new screen, or the 166mhz. i can get the 166mhz upgrade for $30. So say I get the same laptop on ebay for $200. Thats still cheaper than trying to get the powersupply for this one.

Battery I dunno...if its Li-Ion, it may not be dead. Does it not charge because of the powersupply, or is it the internal powersupply thats damaged too? Or is it the battery?

Well, let me know...Id like to see if i cant get the price down a little.

Has two batteries and the powersupply. Even has the original packaging, books, and cd-roms. It may likely go for $200+. But...that might be a better deal :)
