The Details.
A PC Chips/PC100 Bxcel based motherboard, slot 1.

http://iceberg.pchomeworld.com/cgi-win/L3Static/L3Stat.asp?Part=MB65856

Currently running a standard Pentium 2 400 processor at 100mhz.

Ok. So i went and purchased a socket 370 ppga/fc-pga To Slot one convertor card.

Then i went and bought a Pentium III 800 EB with a fsb of 133mhz, 1.7v.

So if any one can tell me wether it's possible to get them all running together harmoniously, and if so how, i'd be very grateful. For instance, do i up the fsb to 133, which the board manual implies i should never even consider, or do i change the multiplier..or do i underclock the new chip..and what about the jumper setting on the adaptor card, which has "Auto-Host" frequencies.. does that mean the chip or the board?
Then there's the thing about the agp card..and the 100mhz memory..
Is it as i fear a new board entirely solution? If so, any recommended cheap (very) ones?

All efforts or hints greatly appreciated, many Thanx in advance.

Hi
At a glance I would say your mobo is not compatable,IE no 133fsb
I doubt that it has coppermine support either.
Take a look at the new socket 370 ppga mobos that are out now.
Plenty to choose from.
Good luck.

Jed;)

Dewill is right, a coppermine wont work, so you would be better off with a p3 800 non eb. Your board may be able to run at 133 or a little below that. But the problem is the voltage of the chip.
So either an other chip or an other mb.
