Hi guys/girls...
Can any of you recommend a good telephone/answering machine? I need to get one for my parents. It really doesnt have to be a portable phone with answering machine, but it would definitely be nice. I have no ideas and, well, i like to order stuff off the net so i dont know where to start. But if it comes down to it, i might just run to the store and take a look around. Figured id ask all you first since you know whats good and what i should stay away from..

Hey Bap,
I like the Uniden line of telecomunications product. I would recommend to go with a regular phone vs. a cordless. One thing that I will never ever do again is buy a cordless phone. I have spent lots of money on different brands and never been happy with the performance. I have purchase sony, panasonic, and even a uniden cordless phone and never been happy with battery life, sound quality or range. ( out of all the cordless phones I had the uniden model did give me the fewer headaches ) The last cordless phone I had was a sony, darn thing kept droping calls on me. One day it droped one to many calls on me and as I "gently" placed it back in it's base it exploded into about 3 or 4 pieces :D, darned if I know how that happend  . Anyway I am currently using a nice chepo uniden CORDED phone with a built in digital answering machine and have had no problems. Make sure you get the digital machine and not the tape kind, way better playback and the cost diff is not significant.
