i need a cheap ddr motherboard that supports a athlon xp


i saw a ddr board with a sis chipset , is it any good ?

the comp will be used for a accountancy programs , so it has to be stable


any suggestions ?

Hi AFroDYme,

the board you saw was probably the ECS board using the sis 735 chipset, if it was then go ahead and buy it !

It's a great value board with very good performance - probably not the best o/c board but a good bet for a stable system - also if I remember right you can use either SDRAM or DDR on the ECS board.

The only thing you need to check is XP support - I'm not 100% sure on that issue - I think you are ok with it but not positive.

The ECS K7S5A is without a doubt the best value DDR board there is ! :) I have bought 2 recently for friends upgrading and they work fine with XPs. Not an overclockers board but standard performance with the SiS DDR chipset can't be faulted for the money. Nice black colour too :cool:

Shuttle AK31 for none-RAID mobo. XP333R for RAID mobo.
