to an XP 1700+, running a nice 1727 (11x157), will do more. air cooling only. still locked, debating on the unlocking, it seems just fine the way she is right now.
seems the usb probs i was having have been corrected, patched and working now. happy to be able to run over the 154 FSB without USB crapping, although i had the bird up to 169fsb, just no USB.
when i got her, i just stuck her in da box and let her boot @the tbirdy's settings of 152 FSB, then played a bit. only a couple of hours on her, prolly will do more after a sufficient burnin.
very nice processor, is it faster, sure is, but not by leaps and bounds, just faster and more powerful.

hi bldegle2!
so you finally switched to amd :D . nice overclock with just air-cooling...
when you compare it to your tualatin...is there BIG difference in speed?

uh, I switched over from a tbirdy 1.2 running @ 1.52 gig.
been using AMD for many years, have an Intel too as my backup and beta testing machine, no more **** on the AMD setup.
now running 1750MHZ, 11x159, the cpu is getting stronger with use, this is a setting it would not run without a windows protection error during boot yesterday when first installed, and now i can run a stress proggie for awhile before she balks, so she just keeps getting better,
did five 'burns on the fly' with the LiteOn combo, 16x/48xDVD and the 24x burner at this setting, no problems.
USB concerns have been attended to, i am liking this.
as far as unlocking the sucker, I think I will Tweak a bit more FSB wise as the only avenue to a higher clock would be raising the X and LOWERING the FSB, not a good combo overall speed wise.
anyway, almost 300Mhz from it real running speed, in fact, it booted with my old settings for the tbirdy (152 FSB), so it has never seen stock MHZ, or anything even close to it since the get go.
smiles here.

nice overclocks there
is the tualatin air cooled also? seems to handle high fsb better (all intel seems to handle high fsb better.....damit  )

thanks,
mc370 and 8000rpm delta, potted to keep racket down.
i do everything air, tried Pelts a long time back, before watercooling, condensation did me in about avery 48 hours or so, plus, back then, cooling technology sucked at best, i was making my own monsters all the time.
water someday, if for nothing else but the quietness of a much more silent cooling system.
