We're unfortunately down. Lee was moving the servers on Saturday (it was coming, but I didn't expect this soon), but we've been down since then. We also haven't heard anything regarding the status of the servers, so we're kind of in a holding pattern.

Bryan, thanks for the explaination.
A couple of quick questions.
How long had a notice been up in the forums?
What was the initial expected number of days this move would take.
I need to check my WU cache to see if I need to get something else crunching.

There wasn't a posted notice. It was originally supposed to be a 30-minute (upstairs to basement move) that was going to take place in a week or two. I literally got about 5 min. notice. The move was supposed to take an hour or so max. My thought is that they had to be relocated to another location, but B2 doesn't have internet access yet. It's all quite weird, honestly...I wish I knew more.
If anything, more people are hanging out in #rieselsieve, waiting for news...
That's about a much as I have found...

Some late-breaking news: http://dc.rieselsieve.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6#p10
Summary, the project is supposed to be back up this weekend.
HUGE NEWS
Postby bryan on Fri Aug 01, 2008 1:17 am
So, this is going to sound really bizarre, and possibly contrived, but we have heard from B2!!!!
Lee returned to online status at just after midnight, August 1st. He will have a statement about the outage/shutdown this weekend. In the mean time, I am preparing a project resumption plan (basically scrapping the plans I outlined Thursday). What I have so far:
1) Restore DB server, check data integrity
2) Restart web server for forum/website
3) Restart LLRNet server
4) Upgrade BOINC server to 'traditional'/'Berkley' BOINC software - since we're already in an outage, a few more days won't hurt any more
5) Restart BOINC server
Ideally, 1-3 should be done by Saturday night, hopefully. As we have more details, I will post them.

Well, seeing as how now even the resurrection domain of dc.rieselsieve.com is gone........I wouldn't hold my breath or anything. The last note I saw when that was still accessible was that the main RieselSieve servers (www, boinc, etc.) had been recovered, but that at least one had some physical damage.
