We can only work on the information provided. According to the supplied teamids from http://www.stephenbrooks.org/muon1/teamids.txt there are 61 teams.

There are only 54 teams listed there because he dowen't list teams without credits. The only way that 61 to be brought down to 54 is to have whoever created them is to get them deleted. Or something like Bok did. Looks like he's ignoring teams with zero credits.

Actually there are 55 teams counting Yoyo @ Home BOINC Wrapper which is not taking a rank/position.
