Hello.
First of all, I really like the DC-Vault. The way every project is equal makes it pretty cool, so... Thank you :) However, I have a few suggestions:
1: The green and red arrows (and numbers) on the stats show what changed since the last update. This is quite confusing if you don't have the time to look at every update. When I went to bed last night, we had just passed a team, when I checked the vault today, the same team were 400 points ahead. The changes reported that we were up 40 points and they were up 18. So an option to choose between "changes since last update" and "changes last 24 hours" would be really nice. You could possibly throw in "last week" and "last month" aswell. This is espescially useful on the team detail pages.
2: On the team details, it does not tell position and change on the category headers. It would be nice to know that even if you are 150 points up in total, you're down 42 on physical science. Ofcource, it is no biggie just adding up the numbers from the different projects, but hey, I never claimed not to be lazy ;)
3: And here goes... a suggestion regarding the calculation. From what I've read on this forum, they're not popular, but I thought I'd just post my thoughts here to see what you think.
One of the real strenghts of the vault is that it supports a lot of projects that are not Boinc projects. This gives nice focus on projects that do not get all the free publicity that Boinc projects do. However, from time to time, stand-alone projects convert to Boinc then leave the original project running aswell. (Yes, I'm thinking of the Riesel Sieve Project for now, but I'm pretty sure more will come). This results in the project being "worth more" than the other projects as it is possible to get 10k points for leading the Boinc version, and in the Riesel Sieve example, 10k for each of the "sub projects" adding up to a total of 30k. I'm thinking that the 10k should have been split somehow. How to split depends on if one is to regard this as two projects or as one. If it is regarded as two projects, I suggest the points are split so that it adds up to a total of 20k (10k for the Boinc project, 5k for each of the others?). If it is one project then the split would be 5k/2k5/2k5.
Just my thoughts. :)
Thanks.
