Hi,
Just wondering what everyone uses to power their TEC's, i'm just about to move into watercooling and TEC city. But am a little unsure of what to use to power the damned thing!!
I'm looking at a 220w monster but the only person i've heard from uses a £99 model psu.

how many amps does it draw? the enermax range of computer psu's can just about handle tecs, i believe the 400 watt one will power a 172watt tec and a PC without too much hassle, however the tec is designed to work at 15volts so it will be slightly underpowered running on the 12volt line
how are you mounting the tec? have you got your condensation proofing ready?

Lo, the tec is rated:
Qmax = 220w
Vmax = 15.1v
Imax = 23.8A
Delta = 68c
Its going in a DD Maze 2-2 waterblock i've just ordered some neoprene sheet and am trying to find some sealer.
From what i've gathered its better to run a seperate PSU something along the lines of a bench PSU (found one at 40A and 2-20v variable) prob is they are a bit pricey (but then again enermax's are too!!)

www.rivergatedist.com sells the bulldogs. Very good quality, will run TECs at 14.1v (good spot) and you can buy 30,45,60 amp units.
You can also buy two units and stack them for 24v pelts.

so where did you find that psu? thats a good price most of the ones i have found in the uk have been for £150 plus if that psu can really supply 40amps at 14 volts then that could run 2 156watt pelts which would be sweet :D

Hi
It's worth checking out the rallies as well, they are just like computer fair's and you can pick up some good stuff.
