View Full Version : New projects with existing teams

I have the feeling, that we have to mail you for our existing teams to be included in the stats for the new included projects. Recently rechenkraft.net is not included in the new added BOINC projects, although they of course crunch for them. My own team SETI.Germany was as well only added after a mail by me.
That leads me to the conclusion, that it's done by hand, not automatically. Why is this so? I fail to see the reason for not including all teams from the export-XML with the adding of the project.
Most of the BOINC teams will be in next to all BOINC projects, at least in those that qualify for your stats. If you include a new BOINC project, all existing teams should be included in the new stats immediately.
In non-BOINC projects it may be otherwise, and team names may differ a bit, but an automated search for the name could be a nice try as well.

This is being done as wee speak.. You have to understand, the vault only has 1 coder and Nanobot is a very busy dude.. Things get done when Nano has time.. But yes it will be done soon...

And this will only work if the BOINC team name matches the Vault team name EXACTLY

As that's the only possibility at all for BOINC teams to get combined (no such thing as a team CPID) it will work fine.
In BOINC we are used to this.
Edit:
I forgot:
Thanks!!!

When the coding ofr the Vault was started BOINC was in its infancy and most teams had slightly different team names for each project, which was why it was not done at the start.
The code is done and any new projects will have teams added automatically when the project is activated.
The only thing we have to decide is should we run the code regularly to automatically add teams who join projects after the project has been added to the vault. If we turn this on then there will be quite a shuffle in the project standings :D

I have been trying to get our stats for the MalariaControl project added to Team QualxServ and have submitted Team updates but have not gotten any response. Is the update tool broken ?

No, but you have not been entering your team name in the maleriacontrol field so your requests cannot be processed.

I believe that I have including been putting the name in. I have even been careful to be case sensitive in case that mattered. Make me think even more that some thing is "broke" if you can't see the Team name.
We have used the same team name on all Projects so far..... QualxServ
Thanks

OK mate.. I have fixed your team
But lets run through things....
1 - Type you team name etc.
2 - You need to type in the name of your Team in which project you want added, some teams have slightly different names for different project. From example: Ars Technica.. Project TSC, their team name is :Ars Technica Team Frozen Yogurt.......

There was a bug in the team update request process as it did not handle projects with a "dot" in the name. This has now been fixed and I noticed someone, probably Rusty, has updated your Vault team with the Malaria team.
Sorry about the confusion folks :)

Thanks to all for our assistance to Team Qualxserv...
The addition of the MalariaControl numbers moved our over all team position up 43 places
Again thanks ... and we appreciate your great site and the work that it has taken to create and maintain it
