So... now that Grid is officially stopping, is it going to be removed from 'The Vault'?

Looks like they've been found out at last. It's come as quite a shock to the band of steadfast supporters of this project. Despite several mass exoduses (or is that exodii?) caused by abrasive forum moderators grid.org has struggled on with a decreasing army of volunteers.

Hopefully the benefit will be an increase of crunchers at other, perhaps more deserving, projects. Unfortunately, because of the way grid.org seem to have misled it's followers for several months at least, more than a few crunchers could be lost forever.

Needless to say good forums should be well aware of the troublemakers that were there and they won't be made welcome elsewhere. (Especially those who insist on filling their sigs with reams of small red text)

The Seasonal Attribution Project SAP, has also completed its project and formally notified its users that there's to be now more work.

This should be removed from vault too.

See the news on the index page http://attribution.cpdn.org/

I'm curious what you mean by "found out at last". I personally got into Distributed Computing in the first place by running it since 2001. I haven't been running it as much since I have come across other worthwhile projects. I guess one of the major complaints was the lack of support for other platforms and not the greatest utilization of CPU cycles.
Katisu, the comment was a reflection on the lies and hype that members have been fed for months about new projects coming, etc. Major complaint I heard was the dictatorial moderation of the forum and the disenfranchisement of volunteers that it caused. A visit to DCZone archives from it's first few months will show that 1,000's left all at that time.
I can't complain too much though 'cos it brought DCZone into existence as grid retirees had somewhere else to go where they could actually discuss DC computing openly and most of us went to WCG where volunteers are appreciated. Sorry if others disagree with my views but I still have a lingering bad taste in my mouth when I hear grid.org mentioned. I, for one, will not miss it.
