Malaria Control!

You can't create any new accounts on this project.

I don't think it qualifies.:)

That is really a shame as this is a very worthwhile smooth running project. I got in, Jan this year. It just closed again last month. It will probably open again but again, not permanently:(

Consider adding The Lattice Project (link below) -- a combination of DC projects and platforms working primarily biological research issues. The BOINC version just opened up to the public. They are considering it still in BETA but has been tested for over a year and is running very smoothly and is quite stable. Accepting new accounts, should have stats export issues corrected any time now.

Some new projects startded in various stages last month under BOINC, Lattice and SciLINC are already mentioned here, but BRaTS and Cosmology are missing.

So here they are:

About BRaTS@Home BRaTS@Home is a research project that uses Internet-connected computers to do various calculations in Gravitational Ray Tracing. BRaTS stands for BRaTS Ray Trace Simulator. You can participate by downloading and running a free program on your computer. BRaTS@Home is based in a lab in the US.

http://cosmos.astro.uiuc.edu/cosmohome/ : Cosmology@Home
They are using (and adapting) the CAMB algorithm to look at the cosmic microwave background.

Both projects are in the early alpha/beta stage, and currently account creation is not possible. But both already had work send to the early birds (the project junkies).

Cosmology@home has a new url, http://www.cosmologyathome.org
The old one still works.
Their front page now says:
August 22, 2007 Open Registration for Alpha
For those who can't wait until Beta begins, we have opened up registration for the current Alpha stage of Cosmology@Home. Registration through the boinc client is still disabled, so go to the account creation page (http://cosmos.astro.uiuc.edu/cosmohome/join_alpha.php) for more information.

Here are a few more for your "watch" list. Most are in ALPHA:

Docking@Home -- similar to Rosetta, project is ALPHA. Moved from UTEP to Univ of Delaware over the summer, setting up new servers now and hope to have wu's available o/a 1 OCT. Account creation is by invitation. Would recommend once account creation opens up. This link is to the still active website at UTEP: http://docking.utep.edu/

Yo-Yo@Home -- mathematical project in BETA, moves distributed.net and OGR to the BOINC platform. http://www.rechenkraft.net/yoyo/

WEP-M+2 -- mathematical project in ALPHA, exploring Mersenne plus two prime numbers. http://bearnol.is-a-geek.com/wanless2/

Enigma@Home -- Help crack some of the German WWII submarine messages encoded by the ENIGMA machine. Project is ALPHA, Windows and LINUX. http://enigma.no-ip.net:443/enigma/

Hydrogen@Home -- researching hydrogen production, project in ALPHA and account creation by invitation. http://hydrogenathome.org/

Sudoku Project -- brought to you by the folks at RCN, this brand new project searches for the smallest starting configuration for the Sudoku game. http://dist2.ist.tugraz.at/sudoku

RND@Home -- Radio Network Design http://arcoboinc.unex.es/rnd/

Gerasim@Home -- (sorry, can't help much with the Russian here) http://www.gerasim.boinc.ru/Gerasim/

NQueens Project -- (not much help on Spanish either..--)

Have fun exploring!
