Hi All,

Suggestions needed for a burn-in test on a shiney new server.

What DC would suit this best.

Dual Processor AMD 285 - So each is a dual core 2.6

So that gives me 4 x 2.6Ghz

It also has 9Gb of DDR2 memory

So - What is going to exploit it best ??

Up for suggestions.... ?

:worship: wow !!! thats some nice hardware!

Well you the man in charge of DPAD... But any other DC project will fit just fine..
All projects need some help, if you could put DLV and DIMES, that would help them 2 projects.. F@H would be great... QMC needs a boost, SETi could always do with some help, R@H needs more units, Dnet is always a good project(and Kitty would be interested in the benchmarks).
17oB, D2oL, WCG, TSC always need some attention

Thats some fine sounding hardware PD....
Pics are needed I think

Ok - here are some stats for you power junkies (me :) )

Just dropped dnet onto it.

Here are the stats. I don't know if they are good or bad - but I'm guessing they won't be bad.

RC5-72
It chose to use core #6
Throughput 11,047,560 on a single cpu
Real life throughput over all 4 cpu's was 43,429,456

OGR-P2
It chose to use core #3
Throughput 32,359,200 on a single cpu
Real life throughput over all 4 cpu's ..... is not running yet need to finish the RC5 work first  , will fill in later
Real life throughput over all 4 cpu's ..... 132,500,000 -- better than linear scalability ... Hmmm

How does those figures compare to what other machines are getting ?

Also other projects
DPAD -- will run a benchmark set later today hopefully, but it's pretty quick

Evolution@home is managing up to 1.66 MINDS on a single CPU - so would give overall throughput of 6.64 MINDS -- Which is pretty damn fast

F@H is that multithreaded ?? or do I need to run multiple instances ?

I'm going to benchmark it on DPAD today.. Then I'll drop it onto F@H and let it stretch it's legs. :)

I need to shut it down to get a picture of the insides - so that'll follow.

P.S. It the 2U server with the AMD badge on it .... :)
And also I turned on the bright blue attention light .... (that should make it a little easier to spot)

It's also hooked up to the 12 disks in the array directly below it.
