View Full Version : Adding links in the NanoBot script?

Here's a thought -- would it be possible to add a link to the team names in the NanoBot daily update script so that it's easier to hop from the forum and look at the detailed stats for the movers and shakers? I've often found myself having to click around a lot to find the stats for the movers. Would be pretty easy to do, no? Maybe just a link to the stats page for the teams that moved up (not the ones that moved down)?

There is only one condition...

Good stuff. What kind of script is Nanobot? I might be able to lend a hand too.

Whoa! Holy manual labor! :) Thanks for doing that every day. Hardcore! :) :)

There's gotta be a way to automate that. I'll leave the details to y'all.

The other suggestion on the link front (which would be automated) would be to add a link from each team's stat page on DC Vault to their stat page on the original project. I suspect a few might be troublesome, but most project stat pages are just "stats.cgi?id=xxx" and you should already have the ID numbers to pull the stats, presumably.

Correct, that too is something that could be added quite ... easily :)

due to other commitments, Nanobot is really low on time to work on the DC Vault stats atm which means a few of us (with a crash course ;) and not me) are trying to keep it running until he can help out with renewed strenght :)

Btw the daily updates are of course an automated script that posts under Nanobots account name ;)

Links from the commentary done :D

A nice idea  but for the majority of projects we do not have the individual team ID numbers as we tend to parse the overall team standings pages. So this would not be a small amount of work to implement and it would also have to be checked as the overhead of obtaining all of the team IDs could be prohibitive from a performance viewpoint.

Sounds like a very legit problem with the links back to project stats.

The links back to stats pages -- very cool!!! :)
